Karachi Water Corporation’s Monthly Revenue Surges Beyond 1.86 Billion Rupees, Up 65%

The monthly revenue of Karachi Water Corporation has surged beyond 1.86 billion rupees.
Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation has recorded a 65% increase in its monthly revenue, now exceeding 1.86 billion rupees.
According to Jang, a spokesperson for the Water Corporation reported that prior to Syed Salahuddin Ahmed assuming office in September 2022, the corporation’s monthly revenue stood at 1.10 billion rupees. This figure has now surpassed 1.86 billion rupees.
Over the span of two years, the Water Corporation’s monthly revenue has shown an impressive growth of 760 million rupees.
However, despite this significant financial improvement, concerns remain regarding the persistent sewage issues across the city. Citizens still face water shortages, and the tanker mafia continues to operate with substantial influence. Why are these problems unresolved amidst such a notable increase in revenue?
