Jal’s much-anticipated return to Bangladesh after 14 years, with their “Legends of the Decade” concert in Dhaka, faced significant disruptions due to crowd control issues and organizational challenges. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the event had to be halted midway for security reasons. The concert, which was relocated to Jamuna Future Park, a shopping mall, due to rain, saw the Bangladesh army called in to manage the unruly crowd.
The venue, packed with hundreds of fans, became chaotic as a temporary roof over the north court was removed, exacerbating the situation. Fans occupied every available space, including the elevators.
The concert not only celebrated two decades since the release of Jal’s iconic debut album Aadat, but also marked the return of Aurthohin, one of Bangladesh’s most revered bands, after a year-long break from live performances. However, the event was overshadowed by the logistical challenges that marred the band’s comeback.
