In a recent interview with the BBC, she discussed the evolution of TV dramas and their content. She pointed out that today’s actors earn significantly higher salaries, whereas she was paid only 800 rupees per episode for Ankahi. After three years, when she worked on Tanhaiyaan, her pay increased to 1,000 rupees.

Shehnaz emphasized that actors of her time didn’t work for money but focused heavily on content. Producers made the decisions about writers and actors. “Now, it’s multinational companies that decide who is required to sell their detergent.
