End of Rainy Season: Karachi’s Roads Still in Shambles – When Will Repairs Begin?

The rainy season in Karachi has come to an end, but the condition of the city’s roads remains poor. When can we expect these roads to be repaired? Will there be any action taken against those responsible for the substandard road construction?
Traveling on these roads continues to be a major inconvenience for residents.
There are growing concerns about the quality of the roads being constructed in Karachi.
According to Dawn newspaper, the Karachi Infrastructure Development Company (KIDC) has yet to address the 14 issues raised by the Mayor of Karachi regarding the road conditions.
In his correspondence, the mayor questioned the standards of the roads built under KIDC’s supervision.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has set aside a budget of 2 billion rupees for road construction and maintenance in the city.
To ensure quality control, NESPAK has been engaged to oversee the entire process and will be responsible for maintaining standards.
