23% Increase in Water Board Bills, Rate Hike Kept Secret
The Sindh government and the Mayor of Karachi have further burdened the citizens of Karachi.
According to the Daily Jang, the Water Board has quietly increased sewerage and water rates by 23%.
In a meeting chaired by the Mayor, a 14% increase in sewerage bills and a 9% increase in water rates were approved.
According to Jang, to avoid public backlash, the Water Board kept the rate hike secret.
