Firasat Shah Criticizes Parliament’s Inaction on IPPs, Praises Jamaat-e-Islami for Holding Government Accountable

Firasat Shah, an energy expert in the country, raised questions regarding the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) issue, addressing the silence of the parties seated in the National Assembly, Senate, and provincial governments.
He asked, “Why are the parties in the National Assembly, Senate, and provincial governments silent on the IPPs issue?”
He further questioned, “How many resolutions has the opposition brought forward? How many times have they protested?”
He remarked, “Jamaat-e-Islami has cornered the government in the agreement, but what have the other opposition parties done?”
