Khawaja Asif Reveals Lack of Audit for IPPs Despite Government Plant Audits

Former Minister for Water and Power and Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif said that while an audit of government plants has been conducted, the audit of IPPs (Independent Power Producers) has not been carried out. He mentioned that all agreements are front-loaded, meaning that the investment has been recouped within two to three years.

On this occasion, host Kashif Abbasi stated that the report suggests they have earned billions of rupees just from fuel costs. Khawaja Asif responded that it might be in the trillions.
