Jamaat-e-Islami Rejects IPP Agreements; Demands Reduction in Electricity Rates and Taxes

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, while addressing the Karachi Bar, said that we do not recognize these IPP agreements.
Electricity rates and taxes need to be reduced.
There will be a sit-in at D-Chowk from July 26, and attempts to stop the sit-in should not be made.
He said that people get worried just by looking at their electricity bills.
Across the country, landlords paid 5 billion and the salaried class paid 375 billion rupees in taxes.
He said that the time has come for decisive struggle against K-Electric.
The Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami said that people are disheartened that they vote for someone, but someone else wins.
Jamaat-e-Islami succeeded in the local elections but was not allowed to elect the mayor.
