Intensified Student Protests in Bangladesh: Thousands Demand Abolition of Government Job Quota System

In Bangladesh, student protests have intensified, with thousands of students taking to the streets demanding the abolition of the quota system in government jobs. The quota system allocates 30% of government jobs to the children of those who participated in the movement for the establishment of Bangladesh.
Students are protesting against this discriminatory law, claiming that it benefits the Awami League.
The ruling party, the Awami League, argues that the student protests are led by the student wings of Jamaat-e-Islami (Chhatra Shibir) and BNP (Chhatra Dal), according to the ruling Awami League.
