Islamabad Set for July 12 Sit-in Over Tax and Electricity Cost Concerns – Jamaat-e-Islami Warns of Consequences if Protest is Disrupted

“To reduce taxes and electricity bills, a sit-in will start in Islamabad from July 12. If the sit-in is stopped, they will suffer. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, said that the government must reduce electricity bills and unjust taxes. Rulers increase inflation by obeying the IMF, the system of oppression and the aristocracy should end. They are staging a sit-in on July 12 for public rights. The sit-in will continue until demands are met. Feudal lords and bigwigs do not pay taxes, while the burden is placed on the salaried class. These people think they can run away to London, America, Dubai, but when the public comes out, they don’t even find the way to the airport.”
