Islamabad, Pakistan – In a bold move, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has demanded the termination of the power outage system and a significant reduction in electricity prices. Rehman also announced the intention to sever contracts with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), citing unacceptable taxation on electricity bills. He emphasized the need for affordable electricity rates for the public.
Furthermore, Rahman declared a planned sit-in protest in Islamabad starting July 12, urging governmental officials to heed their demands promptly.
