Citizens bear the burden of petroleum levy as record collection reaches 261.69 billion rupees from July to September
For the first time in Pakistan’s history, record petroleum levy collections have been recorded for the first quarter of a fiscal year.
According to Jang, the government collected 261.69 billion rupees in petroleum levies from July to September, marking an increase of 39.62 billion rupees year-over-year.
In the same period of the previous fiscal year, petroleum levy collections stood at 222.07 billion rupees.
The target for levy collection in the current fiscal year has been set at 1,281 billion rupees.
