The Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has issued a directive emphasizing that the Engineering Department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) must maintain strict adherence to quality standards. He stated that any contractor found delivering substandard work should be blacklisted.
According to the Daily Jang, he highlighted that the Sindh government has allocated 218 billion rupees for the development and infrastructure enhancement of Karachi. There are ample funds available for the restoration and maintenance of roads and streetlights, and all projects are being prioritized accordingly.
During his site visit to evaluate the construction of the Jinnah Bridge and the Mayo Shah Cemetery road, he was accompanied by local leaders from the Pakistan Peoples Party.
