A high-level meeting was held between the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI in Islamabad.
The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, along with other senior leaders from both parties, attended the meeting.
Addressing the media, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan firmly stated, “We categorically reject the constitutional amendment bill and oppose any clause-by-clause review.” He underscored the importance of preserving political freedoms in the country.
The Ameer also highlighted that it has been one year since Israeli aggression on Gaza, and Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to observe Gaza Solidarity Week in response.
He further noted that both Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI share a unified stance on several key issues, including Independent Power Producers (IPPs), the tax burden on the salaried class, and the petroleum levy.
