Karachi Traffic Police Collects Record 1.2 Billion Rupees in Fines: Over 2 Million Tickets Issued

The traffic police collected 1.2 billion rupees from violations in Karachi. According to official data from Dawn newspaper, over two million tickets were issued in Karachi from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
The amount collected from citizens in fines exceeded 1.2 billion rupees, which amounts to 3.5 million rupees daily.
Jameel Yusuf, former head of the CPLC, stated that this money should be used for improving the city’s traffic system.
