According to Geo News, the Nobel Institute has rejected the claim of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s nomination for the Nobel Prize. The director of the Institute, Christian Berg Harpveken, stated that this is the first time a leader has used the Nobel Prize nomination in such a manner, which has undermined the prestige of this international honor. In an article published in a respected Norwegian newspaper, he mentioned that the announcement of the nomination was promoted in a way to influence Pakistani voters residing in Norway. The Institute has stated that the nomination was a strategy used by Norway’s Centre Party for political purposes.
