Chicken prices in Karachi have risen by 100 rupees per kilogram in just one week, with retail prices now reaching 700 rupees for regular chicken and 740 rupees for boneless cuts. Eggs have also become more expensive, selling at 380 rupees per dozen, above the government-set price. Shopkeepers attribute the price hikes to increased wholesale costs, with live chickens now being supplied at 480 rupees per kilogram.
