Nation will not Tolerate any Backdoor deal between the Government and Opposition regarding Constitutional Amendments

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, stated in a tweet that the nation will not tolerate any backdoor deal between the government and opposition regarding constitutional amendments. He questioned the apparent contradictions, noting, “While there is talk of consensus within the parliamentary committee, there are public displays of disagreement?”

He urged the opposition to categorically reject the entire amendment, suggesting that if members are facing pressure, their names should be disclosed, and the matter taken to the Supreme Court. He further accused political parties of deliberately creating confusion to protect their interests, asserting that the public is well aware of the strategy of using pressure as a pretext to ensure government support through their own members. Jamaat-e-Islami, from the outset, has been consistently advising the opposition to refrain from engaging in this process.
