According to Express News, the IMF has recommended that the government take steps to enhance the autonomy and independence of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives. The IMF also stressed the need to strengthen NAB’s role in ensuring accountability.
The organization called for improvements in the investigative framework and requested the development of a comprehensive action plan to eliminate corruption by June 2025.
Additionally, the IMF highlighted the importance of enhancing the legal capacity of public institutions to address corruption cases more effectively.
