The Sindh Assembly has been informed that the electricity crisis has led to the closure of 81 industrial units over the last five years.
This figure includes 10 textile mills, 5 sugar mills, and one cement factory.
As reported by Dawn News, Parliamentary Secretary for Industries and Commerce, Ali Ahmed, emphasized that the electricity crisis has had a significant impact on industrial activities in the province. He noted that the provincial government is actively working to support industrialists to the best of its ability.
In response to inquiries, he indicated that there are currently 6,856 operational units in the province, alongside the establishment of 915 new industrial units.
