Dr. Qaiser Bengali Criticizes Pakistan’s Lavish Imports Fueled by Borrowed Dollars

Dr. Qaiser Bengali, a prominent economist of the country, commented on Pakistan’s economic situation, stating that we are importing cars using borrowed dollars.

Speaking at an event in Karachi, he said, “If you go to supermarkets, you’ll find imported food for dogs and cats, and you’ll even find dog and cat shampoo. At Islamabad Airport, you won’t find anything Pakistani. I buy biscuits from the road because I don’t want to use imported items while waiting at the airport.”

He further stated that the import of cars should be stopped, as we are paying for these imported cars in dollars, and those dollars are borrowed.

Dr. Qaiser Bengali remarked, “This luxurious lifestyle we see here is being funded by borrowing from other countries. This cannot continue.
