State Bank to Replace All Currency Notes from Rs 10 to Rs 5,000: New Designs Coming by December

The Governor of the State Bank has announced that a decision has been made to replace all currency notes ranging from 10 rupees to 5,000 rupees.
According to ARY News, the State Bank Governor, Jameel Ahmed, informed the Senate Standing Committee on Finance that by December, all currency notes will be introduced according to the new design.
He also mentioned that in addition to paper currency, one note will also be introduced in plastic.
The approval from the federal cabinet will soon be sought for introducing the new design of the currency.
