50% Decrease in Cotton Production Causes Crisis in Textile Sector
A significant decrease in cotton production has plunged the textile sector into a crisis.
Compared to last year, cotton production in Pakistan has dropped by 50%.
By August 15, the domestic production of cotton was 1,075,000 bales, which is a 49% decrease compared to the same period last year.
In Punjab, cotton production was down by 38%, while in Sindh it decreased by 54%.
