Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Warns of Economic Peril Without Reforms in Power Sector and FBR

In a recent federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the urgent need for reforms in the power sector and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), warning that without these changes, the country’s stability could be at risk. He highlighted the progress made during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, which ended the 20-hour daily load shedding. The Prime Minister stressed that politicizing the electricity crisis is disrespectful to the public and criticized those engaging in politics for its own sake. He assured that government-owned Independent Power Producers (IPPs) are functioning smoothly and praised China’s collaboration with Pakistan, which resulted in the generation of thousands of watts of electricity.
