K-Electric’s 631 feeders are under load shedding, and there have been several instances where K-Electric’s demand has been lower than that of Islamabad’s IESCO, despite Karachi having a larger population compared to Islamabad. Additionally, K-Electric’s demand has remained consistent in both hot and cold weather, even though electricity demand typically increases in hot weather.
At a seminar held at the University of Karachi’s Applied Economics Research Center concerning IPPs (Independent Power Producers), experts shared their views.
MPhil scholar Rao Asad made a surprising revelation that K-Electric’s 631 feeders are under load shedding. He pointed out that based on the data, K-Electric’s demand remained consistent during both hot and cold seasons, although electricity demand usually increases in hot weather.
