According to Geo News, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital receives an average of 1100 patients daily, despite having only 50% of its required staff available to care for hundreds of patients.
The hospital is battling with shortages of life-saving medications and other essential drugs, despite allocating Rs. 8.98 million annually for medications.
Currently, out of 154 medical officer positions, 65 are vacant, while only 93 out of 200 nursing positions are filled.
